What is a fiber laser cutting machine?
A fiber laser cutter focuses a high-energy beam, delivered through fiber optics, onto the material to melt and vaporise it along a CNC-controlled path. The result is a clean, accurate cut with a narrow kerf and minimal heat damage, and on most sheet work it's much faster than CO₂ laser or plasma cutting.

Fiber lasers are designed for metal cutting. Here's what our machines handle, and what to consider for each material.
Mild & carbon steel
Every Bodor fiber laser cuts mild and carbon steel. Maximum thickness depends on the laser power you choose.
Stainless steel
Consistently accurate, clean cuts on stainless steel.
Aluminium
A reflective material. Our engineers will advise on the right setup and settings for the best results.
Galvanised sheet
Batch-cut galvanised sheet on enclosed machines like the i Series.
Brass & copper
Highly reflective, so they need the right protection and settings. Laser scanning cutting helps on selected models.
Titanium
Cut titanium plate precisely and efficiently with the correct assist gas and parameters.
Can I see a machine cutting before I buy?

Do you deliver and install the machine?
Yes. Our engineers deliver and install your machine and get it set up and ready to use. We can also relocate existing machines to new sites anywhere in the UK.
Do you provide operator training?
Yes. Our experienced engineers provide practical, hands-on training so you can run your fiber laser machine with ease.
How thick can a fiber laser cut?
It depends on laser power. As a rough guide, a 1kW source cuts up to around 10mm of steel, while 30kW and above can cut around 60mm. Tell us your materials and thicknesses and we'll recommend the right power.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. We offer flexible, affordable finance agreements. Ask our sales team for a quotation.
